Toasted Glass has long been a fan of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and this design pays homage to the illustrations of John Tenniel as seen in chapter 8 of the book, 'The Queen's Croquet Ground.
It is an incredibly intricate design that features a hand painted Alice with her flamingo croquet mallet and the hedgehogs being used as croquet balls. The bowl of the glass is also hand painted with the white roses from the Queen's croquet garden, that she demanded, be painted red. You can see that two of the roses are painted red with little droplets falling from them. The stem of the glass is hand painted with the leaves of the rose tree that wind up the glass and the base of the glass features three little hedgehogs and three white roses.
